Why Personal Loans Get Rejected
Most rejections are not about income. The commonest causes are a credit score below the lender's cut-off, a FOIR already above 50–60% once existing EMIs and card dues are counted, and a cluster of recent applications that reads as credit hunger.
Enough time to fix the cause and let recent hard enquiries age.
All three are visible to you before you apply.

What to know
The most damaging pattern is applying repeatedly after a rejection. Each application is a hard enquiry; several in a short window lower the score further and signal distress, so the fifth lender sees a worse file than the first did. If you are declined, get your credit report, identify the actual reason, and fix it before reapplying.
Rejections can also be about the paperwork rather than the person — a mismatch between the name on your PAN and your bank records, an address that does not reconcile, or bank statements that do not evidence the salary you declared. These are trivial to fix and frequently misread as a creditworthiness problem.

Questions
Why was my personal loan rejected even though I have good income?
Income is only one input. A credit score below the cut-off, a FOIR already stretched by existing EMIs and card dues, a short employment history, an employer outside the lender's approved list, or several recent applications will each cause a decline regardless of salary.
How long should I wait before applying again?
Three to six months, and only after fixing the underlying cause. Reapplying immediately adds another hard enquiry to a file that has just been declined, which makes the next assessment worse rather than better.
Does a rejected application show on my credit report?
The enquiry appears; the outcome generally does not. But a cluster of enquiries in a short period is itself a negative signal, because it reads as someone applying everywhere.
