How we make money
Research costs money. Here is where ours comes from, and the line we hold.
Three revenue sources
Partner links. When you apply for a credit card, loan or insurance policy through some of the links on this site, the institution pays us a referral fee. It costs you nothing, and it does not change the terms you are offered.
Lead generation. Where you ask to be contacted about a product, we may pass your details to the relevant institution — only with your explicit consent, only to the institution you selected, and never to a general marketing list.
Advertising. Some pages carry display advertising. Ads are always labelled and are never styled to resemble our own recommendations.
What that money cannot buy
- A ranking. Positions come from a published scoring formula that runs on the same fields for every product. There is no input for commercial relationship.
- A better review. The cons list on a partner product is written the same way as on any other. If a card has a punishing cap or a poor redemption rate, that is what the page says.
- Exclusion of a competitor. Products we earn nothing from appear throughout this site, and several currently rank above products we do earn from.
- Silence. We write about products we consider poor value — including ones sold by institutions we have commercial relationships with elsewhere.
Why we disclose before the recommendation
A disclosure buried in the footer is a formality. Ours sits at the top of every page that carries partner links, before you read a single ranking, because that is the only point at which the information is actually useful to you.
Coverage is not complete, and we say so
No comparison site covers every product in India. Ours does not either. We list what we have researched and verified, and we do not present a partial list as an exhaustive one. Where a well-known product is missing, it is because we have not finished checking it — not because it lost a commercial negotiation.
Your data
Calculators run entirely in your browser; nothing you type is transmitted. When you click a partner link we record which product, which placement and which page — enough to reconcile a payout, and nothing that identifies you. See our privacy policy for the detail.
If you think we have got this wrong
If a ranking on this site looks like it was bought, tell us. We will show you the inputs that produced it. A method you can audit is the only version of independence that means anything.
