If a PM-Kisan instalment has not reached you, check Know Your Status on pmkisan.gov.in first, because it usually shows the reason. If the status does not explain it, raise a grievance on the portal’s Help-Desk page with your registration number and an OTP, or call the PM-Kisan helpline on 155261 or 011-24300606. Unresolved cases go to your district or state PM-Kisan nodal officer.

Common reasons the money is not credited

ItemDetails
e-KYC not done. The portal says e-KYC is mandatory for registered farmers.
Bank account problems.Payments go to Aadhaar-seeded accounts, so a de-seeded, unmapped or closed account causes a failed transfer.
Land seeding shows “No”.The state has not linked your land record.
Payment withheld for verification. The Department says benefits are temporarily withheld, pending physical verification, where land was acquired after 1 February 2019 or more than one family member is receiving the benefit.
Self-registration still pending. The state has not approved your application yet.

Our guide to PM-Kisan beneficiary status messages explains each status field and how to fix seeding errors. This page covers what to do when those checks do not solve the problem.

Checks before you file a complaint

  1. Open Know Your Status in the Farmers Corner and enter your registration number. Use Know Your Registration Number if you have lost it.
  2. Confirm that e-KYC, land seeding and Aadhaar-bank seeding all show “Yes”. If e-KYC is pending, finish it first; see our PM-Kisan e-KYC guide.
  3. If you registered yourself or through a CSC, check Status of Self Registered Farmer/CSC Farmers.
  4. Ask your bank whether the account is active and mapped to your Aadhaar for DBT.
  5. If your phone number has changed, use Update Mobile Number so that complaint OTPs reach you.

A complaint will not move faster than the fix it depends on. If land seeding is “No”, the correction has to come from the state’s agriculture or revenue office.

Raising a complaint on the PM-Kisan portal

  1. Go to pmkisan.gov.in and open Contact Us > Help-Desk, or go straight to the Grievance page.
  2. Select Raise Grievance.
  3. Enter your registration number. If your registration is new or still awaiting approval, enter the temporary ID instead.
  4. Type the captcha code and click Get OTP. Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile.
  5. Choose the grievance category and describe the problem in up to 500 words. Mention the instalment number and what your status page shows.
  6. Upload a supporting document if you have one, such as a bank passbook page or land record.
  7. Submit and note the grievance ID.

To follow up, open the same page, select Check Status and enter your registration or temporary number. The Department’s March 2023 reply to Parliament says grievances lodged on the portal are transferred directly to the concerned nodal officer. PIB reported 24,605 grievances recorded on the portal in FY 2024-25.

We could not find a WhatsApp complaint number or a separate “call centre mobile number” on pmkisan.gov.in or in government press releases. Numbers circulating on social media may not be official. Never share your OTP or bank PIN with anyone who calls you about PM-Kisan.

Escalating to the district agriculture office

PM-Kisan is paid by the Centre, but states verify farmers and correct their data. State governments have appointed nodal officers at block, district and state level. The Department says District Agriculture Officers or District Collectors are usually available to hear grievances.

  1. Find your officer on the portal’s State Nodal Contact Details page (Contact Us > Searchable Contact Details).
  2. Visit the block or district agriculture office with your Aadhaar, bank passbook, land record, registration number and portal grievance ID.
  3. Give a short written application naming the missing instalments and the status message.
  4. Keep a stamped copy of the application.

The operational guidelines require states to set up State and District Level Grievance Redressal Monitoring Committees. The scheme FAQ says an eligible family left out of the list can approach the district committee. If the district does not act, write to the state nodal officer and file on CPGRAMS, quoting your earlier grievance IDs.

Once the error is fixed, the Department says the benefit is released with the next instalment. For farm credit rather than income support, see our page on agriculture loans and the Kisan Credit Card.
