AU Lit Credit Card (2026) Review

A lifetime-free, fully modular card — strong if you manage it each quarter, weak if you do not.

The AU Lit Credit Card is a lifetime-free Visa card from AU Small Finance Bank, built to be customised — you switch on only the benefit categories you want each quarter.

Our verdict

The most interesting card structure in India. It rewards people who will actually log in each quarter and switch features — and quietly under-delivers for everyone else. Best for people whose spending pattern changes through the year.

The 720+ score expectation is the real gate: this is not a first card. If you are not there yet, work through how to improve your credit score before applying, because a rejection costs you a hard enquiry.

What works, what does not

What works

  • Genuinely modular — you pay only for the features you enable.
  • Lifetime free base card.
  • Useful for matching benefits to a travel-heavy or shopping-heavy quarter.

What does not

  • Enabled features carry their own fees.
  • Requires active management to extract value.

Worth knowing: the 18% GST on the annual fee is the number most comparisons quietly omit. A ₹2,500 card actually costs ₹2,950 a year. On this card the base fee is nil, so the GST question moves to the features you switch on and to the 3.49% forex markup, which also carries GST on the markup — the forex markup calculator puts a rupee figure on that.

Compare with

Card Issuer Rating Effective return Annual fee
Scapia Federal Bank Credit Card Federal Bank 3.9/5 3.0% Nil
Axis Bank Atlas Credit Card Axis Bank 3.6/5 4.5% ₹5,000
SBI Cashback Credit Card SBI Card 3.2/5 4.2% ₹999

All three score above the AU Lit on our formula, and two of them charge a fee to do it — which is the trade the modular structure asks you to make. AU Small Finance Bank’s other rates and products are on the AU Small Finance Bank page.

Effective reward rate is our own blended estimate for a typical spend mix — not the accelerated rate an issuer advertises on one category. Annual fees are shown before the 18% GST that is charged on top. Verify current terms on the issuer’s site before applying; card terms change without notice.
