Shivalik Small Finance Bank advertises a fixed deposit rate of 8.00% a year onwards, and 8.25% for senior citizens, on tenures of 23 months 1 day to 27 months. That is the joint third-highest of the 12 providers we track for this product.
Rate, maximum and fees
| Advertised rate | Maximum rate | Terms | Fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8.00% | — | 8.25% for senior citizens | 23 months 1 day to 27 months |
Advertised rate is the floor, not a guarantee. As of 2026-10-02 · each bank’s own rate page or rate card, deposits below ₹3 crore.
What that costs in rupees
On ₹5,00,000 for 5 years, compounded quarterly:
| Interest at 8.00% | ₹2,42,974 |
|---|---|
| After tax at the 30% slab | ₹1,67,166 |
| What you get at maturity, after tax | ₹6,67,166 |
Interest is taxed at your slab rate, so this assumes the top slab plus 4% cess. At a lower slab you keep more. TDS applies once interest crosses the annual threshold. Run your own amount and tenure through the FD maturity calculator.
How it compares
Shivalik has the joint third-highest rate of the 12 providers we track for fixed deposits. Among other small finance banks, Unity Small Finance Bank also pays 8.00%, Jana Small Finance Bank 8.00%, Suryoday 8.25% and Utkarsh 8.10%. The full ranked table is on best FD interest rates.
What moves this rate
Small finance bank deposit rates are typically the highest available, but DICGC insurance covers ₹5 lakh per depositor per bank, including interest. Anything above that in one bank is uninsured, however good the rate looks. Size the deposit accordingly, and split across banks to keep every rupee covered — that is worth more than the last few decimal points of rate.
FD interest is taxed at your normal slab rate. There is no special treatment, so the advertised rate is a before-tax figure. At the 30% slab plus 4% cess, roughly a third of it goes in tax.
The tenure-by-tenure detail is on the Shivalik fixed deposit interest rate page. Terms change without notice — confirm the current figures with the bank before you act.
