Axis Atlas Credit Card (2026) Review

What the Axis Bank Atlas Credit Card costs once GST is counted, and when the EDGE Miles actually pay for it.

The best domestic travel card for someone who actually books award flights. Redeem for statement credit instead and the value collapses to roughly 1% — this card only works if you use the transfer partners.

The 18% GST on the annual fee is the number most comparisons quietly omit. Count it before deciding whether the rewards clear the bar — and if you ever revolve a balance, the finance charge erases a year of miles in a couple of statements. That is the same arithmetic that decides whether a cashback card beats a miles card for your spending pattern.

What works, what does not

What works

  • Strong airline and hotel transfer partners at favourable ratios
  • Tiered milestone structure rewards consistent spending
  • Generous domestic and international lounge allocation

What does not

  • Value depends entirely on redeeming through transfer partners
  • Reward structure has been devalued more than once
  • High fee with no spend-based waiver

Eligibility

Age 21–60 years (typical)
Income ₹9,00,000 a year
Credit score 750+
Documents PAN, Aadhaar, income proof

A 750+ requirement puts this out of reach for a thin or damaged file, and an application you are not going to clear costs you a hard enquiry. Check where you stand and, if there is ground to make up, work through how to improve your credit score before applying. The rest of the Axis range is set out on the Axis Bank credit cards microsite.

How it compares

Card Credsir rating Effective return Annual fee
Scapia Federal Bank Credit Card 3.9 / 5 3.0% Nil
HDFC Bank Regalia Gold Credit Card 3.1 / 5 2.6% ₹2,500
HDFC Bank Infinia Credit Card (Metal) 2.8 / 5 3.3% ₹12,500

Effective reward rate is our own blended estimate for a typical spend mix — not the accelerated rate an issuer advertises on one category. Annual fees are shown before the 18% GST charged on top.

If you want the travel benefits without the fee, the zero-fee Scapia Federal Bank Credit Card scores higher here precisely because there is nothing to earn back. At the other end, the HDFC Infinia carries a ₹12,500 fee for a 3.3% return, so it needs far more spend before it pays for itself.
