Worth knowing: the repo rate is what banks pay the RBI for short-term funds. Nearly every floating-rate retail loan in India is now linked to it through the External Benchmark Lending Rate, so a repo cut passes through to home loan EMIs within a quarter — while deposit rates typically fall faster. Which side of that you want to be on is the whole argument in fixed vs floating home loans.
