Credsir earns money when you apply for a product through some of the links on this site. That revenue funds the research. It does not buy a placement: our rankings come from a published scoring method that runs on the same data for every product, partner or not. How to download your CIBIL report PDF

The steps below use CIBIL’s own site. A new user first creates a myCIBIL account; an existing user logs in.

  1. Go to cibil.com and click the free CIBIL score and report link on the homepage.
  2. Create an account with your name, email ID and mobile number, or log in if you already have one.
  3. Pick an identity proof such as PAN from the drop-down, enter your date of birth and gender, and complete the identity check. If the online check fails, call CIBIL’s helpline.
  4. If you already have an account, open the “My Account” tab at the top right and click “Get your Free Report”.
  5. Once the report loads, open the “Credit Report” option and click “print the report”.
  6. In the print window, choose “Save as PDF” (or your phone’s share or print option) to keep a copy.

After you use the free report, CIBIL’s page says the next free one is available in the following calendar year. A report pulled any day in 2026 means your next free report opens on 1 January 2027. CIBIL sells paid plans for more frequent access; you do not need one to see your report once a year.

Free credit reports from the other three bureaus

India has four credit information companies registered with the RBI: TransUnion CIBIL, Experian, Equifax and CRIF High Mark. Each must give you one free full report a year, so you can check your history four times a year at no cost.

ItemDetails
Equifaxcreate an account on equifax.co.in, verify with OTP, confirm your ID details and run the free report. Equifax also takes a paper request form with ID and address proof.
CRIF High Marka free report once each calendar year from its consumer site.
Experiana free score and report from experian.in.

Lenders report to all four bureaus, but the records can differ. If a lender says it checked “your bureau report”, ask which bureau it used.

Can you get your CIBIL report from SBI or another bank?

Your CIBIL report comes from TransUnion CIBIL, not from your bank. A bank pulls your report when you apply for a loan or card, and the RBI directions do not require the bank to hand you a copy. Some bank apps and loan sites show a credit score through a bureau tie-up, but that is a separate service with its own terms.

For the full report, go to the bureau directly. CIBIL also lists its services on the government’s UMANG app.

What your CIBIL report shows

Section What to check
CIBIL score Your three-digit score from 300 to 900, worked out from your accounts and enquiries
Personal information Name, date of birth and gender linked to your loans and cards
Contact and employment details Addresses, phone numbers and employment information reported by lenders
Accounts Every open and closed loan and credit card, with balance, overdue amount and payment history
Enquiries Each lender that pulled your report when you applied for credit in the last 36 months

Fixing a mistake in the report

  1. Log in to myCIBIL and open the report. CIBIL asks that the report be no older than 60 days when you raise a dispute.
  2. Select the wrong entry (a loan you never took, a wrong overdue, a closed account shown open) and raise a dispute online.
  3. CIBIL sends the dispute to the lender that reported the data. The lender has 21 days and the bureau the rest of the 30-day window.
  4. The disputed field shows as “under dispute” until it is resolved.
  5. If the complaint is not resolved within 30 calendar days, you are entitled to ₹100 for each day of delay.

If the lender or bureau rejects your complaint or does not reply within 30 days, you can complain to the RBI Ombudsman under the Reserve Bank – Integrated Ombudsman Scheme, 2026 at cms.rbi.org.in. File within 90 days of the reply or of the 30-day wait ending.

Keep your report accurate

  • CIBIL sends an SMS or email when a lender pulls your report. An alert you do not recognise is a reason to check the report.
  • Since 1 July 2026, lenders send data as on four dates a month instead of twice, so a repaid loan should show sooner.
  • Your own check is a soft enquiry and does not lower your score.

Frequently asked questions

How can I download my CIBIL report PDF for free?

Claim the free annual report on cibil.com, open “Credit Report” and click “print the report”, then save it as a PDF. The free report is available once each calendar year.

Can I download the TransUnion CIBIL report more than once a year for free?

The RBI rule gives one free full report per bureau per calendar year. For more checks, use the free reports from Experian, Equifax and CRIF High Mark, or a paid CIBIL plan.

Is the free CIBIL report the same as the one banks see?

Yes. The RBI directions say the free report must carry the same details as the most detailed version the bureau gives lenders.

SBI does not issue your CIBIL report. Get it from cibil.com or the CIBIL app; a bank app may show a score through a separate tie-up.

What is a bank CIBIL report?

It is the same credit report a bank pulls from CIBIL when you apply for credit, and the pull appears in your enquiries section. Companies get a separate CIBIL Company Credit Report.

How long does it take to correct my CIBIL report?

Disputes must be resolved within 30 calendar days. After that, the lender or bureau at fault owes you ₹100 a day.
