Credsir earns money when you apply for a product through some of the links on this site. That revenue funds the research. It does not buy a placement: our rankings come from a published scoring method that runs on the same data for every product, partner or not. To check your CIBIL score free by PAN number, open the free CIBIL Score and Report page on cibil.com, pick PAN as your ID, fill in your name, mobile number, email and date of birth, and finish the identity check. RBI rules give you one free full report with score from each of the four credit bureaus every calendar year, and checking your own score does not lower it.

How to check your CIBIL score free with your PAN card

Use only cibil.com or the official CIBIL app. Never enter your PAN, OTP or password on a page you reached from an unknown link, SMS or WhatsApp message.

  1. Open cibil.com and go to the free CIBIL Score and Report page.
  2. If you already have a myCIBIL account, log in, open the My Account tab and click Get your Free Report. New users fill in the sign-up form.
  3. Enter your name, mobile number and email address.
  4. Choose PAN from the ID drop-down and type your 10-character PAN exactly as it appears on the card. Add your date of birth and gender.
  5. Complete the identity verification step the system shows you.
  6. Open your score and full report, then print or save a copy from the Credit Report section.

CIBIL’s FAQ says that if the online identity check fails, you must call customer support to finish it. Your account opens once that is done. If the Get your Free Report link is missing, you have probably used this year’s free report already, or a paid unlimited plan is still running.

Why CIBIL asks for your PAN

Banks and other lenders report your loans and cards to CIBIL, and each record carries identifiers such as your name, date of birth and ID numbers. Your PAN is the most common of these, so it is the quickest way for the bureau to match you to your accounts.

A PAN on its own does not open a report. CIBIL also asks for your contact details and runs an identity check, which is why you cannot pull up someone else’s credit report just by typing their PAN. Any website that offers a “credit report by PAN number” with no verification at all should be treated with suspicion.

If you do not have a PAN, the same drop-down lists other identifiers. Our guide to PAN and Aadhaar linking covers how to get and link a PAN.

Can you check your CIBIL score by PAN card without OTP?

Not on the official route. CIBIL completes an identity verification before it shows your report, and the fallback when that step fails is a call to its helpline, not skipping the check. Lenders do pull your report without asking you for an OTP, but only when you apply for credit, and that pull shows up as an enquiry.

Since the RBI’s credit information directions, bureaus must send you an SMS or email when a lender pulls your report, if they have your mobile number or email. If you get such an alert and did not apply for credit, raise a dispute.

Free credit report by PAN at the other three bureaus

Each bureau has to give you one free report a year, so you can see four reports a year at no cost. Lenders may check any of them.

Bureau What it asks for Free report
Experian Sign-up on experian.in Free score and report once a year
Equifax Email, mobile and password; OTP check; date of birth, address and an ID such as PAN or Aadhaar One free report a year
CRIF Name, PAN and registered mobile number Once each calendar year

What your CIBIL report shows

ItemDetails
CIBIL scorea number from 300 to 900 that summarises your credit history.
Personal detailsname, date of birth and gender linked to your loans and cards.
Accountsall active and closed loans and credit cards, with payment history.
Enquiriesevery lender check for your loan and card applications in the last 36 months.

CIBIL says the score depends mainly on payment history, credit utilisation, the age of your accounts and enquiries. The closer the score is to 900, the better your chances of approval. New borrowers may see NH or NA instead of a number; our page on NA and NH scores explains why. For a line-by-line walk-through, read how to read your credit report.

If your PAN-linked report has a mistake

  1. Log in to myCIBIL, open the Credit Report section and go to the dispute centre.
  2. Pick the section to dispute: personal, contact, employment, account or enquiry. You can raise several fields in one dispute.
  3. Submit the form. CIBIL marks the entry Under Dispute and checks with the lender.
  4. Track the status on your dashboard.

CIBIL cannot change a record on its own; the lender must confirm it. Under RBI rules the complaint must be settled within 30 calendar days (21 for the lender, 9 for the bureau). After that, you are owed ₹100 for each day of delay. If you are still unhappy, complain under the Reserve Bank – Integrated Ombudsman Scheme, 2026, in force since 1 July 2026, at cms.rbi.org.in or on 14448.

Frequently asked questions

How to check CIBIL score free by PAN number?

Go to cibil.com, open the free CIBIL Score and Report, choose PAN as your ID, fill in your details and complete identity verification. You get one free report every calendar year.

Can I check my CIBIL score by PAN card without OTP?

The official process always includes an identity check. If it fails online, call CIBIL on 022-61404300 to complete it rather than using sites that skip verification.

Can I get a credit report by PAN number alone?

No. Bureaus ask for your contact details and verify your identity before they show a report, so a PAN alone does not open anyone’s report.

Is SBI’s CIBIL score check free by PAN number?

Banks such as SBI pull your report when you apply for a loan or card. For your own free annual report, use the bureaus’ websites directly.

Does checking my CIBIL score with my PAN card reduce it?

No. Checking your own score does not affect it. Only lender enquiries for credit you apply for appear on the report.

How often can I check my CIBIL score for free?

Once per calendar year at each bureau. If you used CIBIL’s free report on or after 1 January 2026, the next one is available from 1 January 2027.

Can I check my CIBIL score without a PAN card?

Yes. The sign-up form lists other identifiers in the same drop-down, though PAN is the one most lenders report.
