Indian Bank gold loan per gram in 2026
Indian Bank does not publish a single per-gram loan figure online. Your amount depends on two numbers: the bank’s internal per-gram advance value and 70% of the gold’s market value. The bank lends the lower of the two.
Under the RBI’s gold lending directions, which apply from 1 April 2026, lenders value gold at the lower of two prices: the 30-day average closing price, or the previous day’s closing price. The price must come from the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) or a SEBI-regulated commodity exchange. Only the net weight of gold counts, after stones and other material are removed.
The table applies the 16 September 2026 IBJA closing rates. Treat these as ceilings, since the bank’s own per-gram value may be lower.
| Purity | IBJA rate per gram | 70% of value per gram | Loan on 8 grams | Loan on 10 grams |

Agri gold loan per gram
Indian Bank’s Kisan Gold Backed Farm Credit covers allied activities such as inland fisheries, sheep or goat rearing and layer farming. The limit is based on the scale of finance for the activity plus 20% for household needs. The gold pledged must cover at least 115% to 120% of the loan, depending on the product. On that basis the loan can be at most about 83% to 87% of the gold’s value, still subject to the RBI’s LTV caps.
Loans above ₹2.5 lakh need proof of the agricultural activity.
RBI limits that apply to every gold loan
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| LTV caps for consumption loans | 85% up to ₹2.5 lakh, 80% above ₹2.5 lakh up to ₹5 lakh, and 75% above ₹5 lakh. |
| Bullet loans | the LTV counts the full amount due at maturity, including interest, and the tenure is capped at 12 months. |
| Weight limits | up to 1 kg of gold ornaments and 50 grams of gold coins per borrower. |
| No primary gold | lenders cannot lend against bars or bullion. |
| Return of gold | within seven working days of repayment, or the lender pays ₹5,000 for each day of delay. |
| Auction | the reserve price must be at least 90% of the gold’s current value, or 85% after two failed auctions. |
Indian Bank’s 70% ceiling is below these RBI caps.
