Credsir earns money when you apply for a product through some of the links on this site. That revenue funds the research. It does not buy a placement: our rankings come from a published scoring method that runs on the same data for every product, partner or not. Products we do not earn from appear in these lists whenever they win on the numbers — and several currently do.

To check your CIBIL score free with your PAN number, open the Free CIBIL Score and Report page on cibil.com, choose Income Tax ID (PAN) as your ID type, fill in your details and pass the identity check. You get one free score and full report each calendar year. No legitimate route skips the OTP or identity check, because RBI rules require the bureau to authenticate you first.

How to check your CIBIL score free by PAN number

Type cibil.com into your browser yourself rather than following a link from an SMS or advert. The free offer sits on the Free CIBIL Score and Report page, separate from the paid plans.

  1. Go to cibil.com and open the Free CIBIL Score and Report page.
  2. Enter your name, email address, mobile number and a password for your myCIBIL account.
  3. In the ID Type drop-down, select Income Tax ID Number (PAN) and type your 10-character PAN.
  4. Add your date of birth, gender and address as they appear in your bank and loan records.
  5. Complete the identity check. CIBIL sends an OTP and may ask questions about your existing loans or cards.
  6. Open your dashboard to see the score and the full report. To keep a copy, choose print the report under Credit Report and save it as a PDF.

If you already have a myCIBIL account, log in, open the My Account tab and click Get your Free Report. The link disappears once you have used this year’s free report, and it stays hidden while a paid unlimited plan is running.

Can you check your CIBIL score by PAN card without OTP?

No, not on the bureau’s own site. The Reserve Bank of India (Credit Information Companies) Directions, 2025 let a bureau give you the free full report only after due authentication of the requester. The OTP and the loan questions are that authentication.

A site that shows a score for any PAN without an OTP is a warning sign. Anyone who knows your PAN could look you up the same way. Keep your OTP to yourself, and never share it with a caller who says they are from CIBIL or a bank.

If the online check fails, CIBIL asks you to call its customer support to finish verification. Keep your credit card and loan account details handy for that call.

Check CIBIL score without PAN, or with Aadhaar

PAN is the usual choice, but the CIBIL form also takes a passport, voter ID, driving licence or ration card number. Pick the ID your lenders are most likely to hold on record, because the bureau matches your details against their data.

The CIBIL sign-up drop-down we could see does not list Aadhaar. Equifax, by contrast, lets you use Aadhaar or PAN as the ID when you create a free account. If your CIBIL match fails with one ID, try another that appears on your loan papers.

Free credit report from the other three bureaus

Your CIBIL score is one of four. Each bureau keeps its own file and must give you one free full report every calendar year, so you can see four reports a year at no cost.

Bureau What it asks for Free report
TransUnion CIBIL Name, contact details and an ID such as PAN; OTP and identity questions Once a calendar year
CRIF Name, PAN and registered mobile number Once a calendar year
Equifax Email, mobile and password; OTP; date of birth, address and an ID such as PAN or Aadhaar Once a year; an offline request is answered within 7 days
Experian Sign-up on experian.in Once a year

Our page on how to check your free credit score sums up all four routes.

What the free CIBIL report shows

ItemDetails
CIBIL scorea three-digit number from 300 to 900.
Personal detailsname, date of birth, gender and ID numbers such as PAN, passport and voter ID.
Contact detailsup to four addresses and your phone numbers.
Accountsactive and closed loans and cards, lender names, balances and month-by-month payments.
Enquirieslender checks made on your loan and card applications in the last 36 months.

The report does not include savings, investments or fixed deposits. If you see NH or NA instead of a number, read our note on scores of NH, NA or -1.

Does checking your own score lower it?

No. Checking your own report is a soft enquiry and does not affect your score. Only lender enquiries made when you apply for credit appear on the report and can have a small effect. See our note on hard and soft enquiries.

How to get the latest CIBIL score

Since 1 July 2026, lenders report your data as on the 9th, 16th, 23rd and last day of each month. A payment you made last week can therefore show up faster than before, when reporting was fortnightly.

Your free report is a snapshot. To see a newer score within the same year, CIBIL sells 1-month, 6-month and 12-month plans that let you refresh the report every 24 hours. Paid plans are optional; the free January report is enough for most people.

If you spot an error, raise a dispute from your myCIBIL account. The lender and bureau together have 30 days to fix it, after which you are owed ₹100 a day. Our guide on fixing a CIBIL dispute has the steps.

Frequently asked questions

How can I check my CIBIL score free online by PAN number?

Open the Free CIBIL Score and Report page on cibil.com, select PAN as your ID type, enter your details and complete the OTP and identity check. Your score and full report then appear on the dashboard.

Can I check my CIBIL score by PAN card without OTP?

Not on CIBIL’s site. RBI rules require the bureau to authenticate you before releasing the report, and the OTP is part of that check.

Can I check my CIBIL score with Aadhaar?

The CIBIL form lists PAN, passport, voter ID, driving licence and ration card as ID types. Equifax accepts Aadhaar for its free report.

How do I get a free CIBIL report?

Use the Free CIBIL Score and Report page once each calendar year. If you used it on or after 1 January 2026, your next free report is available from 1 January 2027.

How can I check my CIBIL score without affecting it?

Check it yourself on the bureau’s site. Your own check is a soft enquiry and does not change the score.

What is the CIBIL score range?

300 to 900. RBI requires all four bureaus to use this range, and CIBIL says a score closer to 900 improves your approval chances.

Why does CIBIL show no score for my PAN?

CIBIL gives a score only if you have had an active loan or credit card in the last 36 months reported to it. With no credit or enquiries, no report exists.
