  1. Open rera.bihar.gov.in.
  2. From the home page, click Cause List & More under the section for homebuyers, or go straight to rera.bihar.gov.in/CauseList.aspx.
  3. Pick the tab for your forum: Authority, Adjudicating Officer, Authority/Conciliation Forum, or one of the two PDR tabs.
  4. Find your hearing date in the Date of Notice column. Each row names the bench and the start time.
  5. Click the row to open the PDF and search it for your case number, such as RERA/CC/268/2026.

Lists are usually posted a few days ahead. On 17 September 2026 the page already carried lists for 18, 22 and 23 September. A list is sometimes followed by a supplementary list for the same day, so check both.

What a RERA Bihar cause list shows

Each PDF is headed with the bench, for example the single bench of the Inquiry Commissioner or of the Special Presiding Officer. Below that, it gives:

  • the date and time of the hearing;
  • the type of cases (complaint, execution, suo motu, or project registration matters);
  • a serial number and case number for each matter;
  • the complainant and respondent, their email addresses, and the project name;
  • a note on the hearing mode, who may appear, and the Court Master’s phone number for help.

Case number prefixes

Prefix seen on the lists Type of matter
RERA/CC/ Complaint case filed by an allottee or other aggrieved person
RERA/SM/ Suo motu case started by the Authority, listed before the Secretary’s or the Special Presiding Officer’s bench
Execution lists Proceedings to enforce an order already passed
PDR Recovery of unpaid dues as a public demand

If your bench is not sitting

Some notices say that, for unavoidable reasons, a court has been adjourned and the listed cases will be heard later. The Adjudicating Officer’s tab has carried a notice since 14 September 2026 saying the court is vacant. If your compensation case is before that officer, watch the tab for a fresh date and keep checking your case status.

Attending a hearing

  • Reach the 4th floor hearing room in Shastri Nagar, Patna before the time on the list.
  • Only persons allowed under Section 56 of the Act may appear for a party. You can appear yourself or authorise a chartered accountant, company secretary, cost accountant, legal practitioner or one of your officers.
  • Call the Court Master named in the note if you cannot find your matter.
  • After the hearing, check Court Proceeding (ProceedingOrder.aspx), where daily proceedings are posted as PDFs and can be searched by case number or party.

How to check RERA Bihar case status

  1. On rera.bihar.gov.in, go to Complaints and click Search Complaint/Case Status.
  2. Enter your case number, or your complaint ID if the case number has not been given yet.
  3. Open the result to see case details and the proceedings so far.

Conciliation matters have a separate Search Conciliation Complaint/Case Status page. Final orders are under Order/Judgments, with a separate list for the Adjudicating Officer, and interim orders are under Interim Orders.

Filing a complaint so your case gets listed

  1. Click File Complaint on the home page and create an account using your mobile number and OTP.
  2. Log in and choose your prayer from the 11 options, such as refund, possession, compensation or structural defect. The portal picks Form M (Authority) or Form N (Adjudicating Officer) for you.
  3. Fill in project, promoter, flat and your own details, then the respondent’s details and the facts and relief sought.
  4. Upload supporting documents as PDFs.
  5. Pay the ₹1,000 fee by card or net banking. A complaint ID is generated, and no paper copy is needed.

Section 29(4) of the Act asks the Authority to decide complaints within 60 days or record reasons for the delay. You can appeal an order to the Bihar Real Estate Appellate Tribunal within 60 days (Section 44), with a ₹5,000 fee under Rule 27 of the Bihar Rules.
