How to read the RERA Punjab cause list

The cause list tells you which cases each bench will hear on a given day. There are two ways to reach it.

  • Search Cause List: Under Complaint, this page shows the current week’s list with the cause list date and time, complaint number, complainant and respondent with their counsel, what the case is fixed for, and the bench name. You can filter by date range, party name, complaint number or bench.
  • Daily cause lists (PDF): These are published for the current week only, in two sets: complaints under Section 31 (Form M and N), and notices to promoters under Section 59.

Each entry says what the hearing is for, such as preliminary hearing or arguments. On 14 September 2026, for example, lists were issued for the Chairperson, the two Members and the Adjudicating Officer.

Joining a hearing

The daily PDF gives the Webex meeting ID for each bench and the days it sits. Join with your display name set as the cause list serial number, then C or R for your side, then the counsel or party name. Serial 12 for the complainant’s counsel ABC, for example, becomes 12/C/ABC. Keep your camera and microphone on during your hearing. If you need an adjournment, apply in writing two days before the date and tell the other side in advance.

How to file a complaint with RERA Punjab

  1. Decide the forum. Use Form M for a complaint to the Authority about a breach of the Act, rules or regulations. Use Form N to ask the Adjudicating Officer for interest and compensation under Sections 12, 14, 18 and 19.
  2. Download the form from Complaint, then Download Complaint Forms, to see what details you need.
  3. Go to Complaint, then File Complaint, register and fill in the complaint online.
  4. Attach your allotment letter, agreement for sale, payment receipts and correspondence with the promoter.
  5. Pay the fee. Rules 36 and 37 of the Punjab State Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Rules, 2017 set ₹1,000 for each form. Check the ePay page for the current amount.
  6. Note your complaint number and use it to follow the case status and cause list.

Each state runs its own RERA portal, and most follow the same pattern: a case status search by complaint number and a published cause list. Haryana has separate authorities at Gurugram and Panchkula, so check the right one. Our list of RERA authorities by state links to each website.
